A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner will conduct an in-depth assessment to obtain detailed information regarding your current concerns and symptoms. Our goal is to understand how these symptoms interfere with your ability to function effectively in your personal, professional, or academic life. We will also asses for other medical conditions that may be contributing to your reported symptoms. Please be prepared to discuss previous medications or treatments you have tried, or other treatments you are currently receiving for non-psychiatric conditions. Also, since many mental health conditions run in families, a detailed family history will be a part of the initial evaluation.
